Shari's webpages provide brief summaries, sample images, and supplementary resource links for 20 class book projects. The projects are appropriate for students in grades K-1. Her "Batman" book (which includes sing-a-long directions and a take-home bag for parents) makes me want to teach a K-1 class!
The "Telephone Book" helps students practice their phone numbers, but it also addresses counting, alphabetical sequencing, and introduces the concept of graphs. The page format includes organizational features found in real phone books, and the finished product could serve a very real function in the classroom.
IMHO – I suspect that developing writers could benefit from more flexibility in some of the templates (i.e.: less "fill-in-the-blank" prompting), but there are some great ideas here!
